Summer Internship Program Details

Program Overview

The Human Resources Summer Internship Program consists of shadow exposures, blended learning opportunities and mentoring which will enable interns to develop their skills in support of the HR competencies and PNC’s One HR Model. 

During the program, interns gain a unique opportunity to discover strategies for leveraging self-awareness to lead themselves, collaborate with others and demonstrate high performance.

What a Typical Day Looks Like

A typical work day will include a mix of attending and/or leading meetings with managers, stakeholders, and peers and project time to complete assigned tasks.

Assignments will also vary by team. Interns may be placed within Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards (Compensation & Benefits), Talent Development and Employee Relations.

In addition to project-based assignments, interns will be assigned a Capstone project to present to senior HR leadership at the close of the internship.

Upon successful completion of the Summer Internship, interns may be offered an opportunity to join the Human Resources Early Career Development Program after graduation.

The program is a dynamic experience which equips participants for various future career opportunities within HR, including:  Analysts and Associates within Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards (Compensation & Benefits), Talent Development or Employee Relations.

Preferred Areas of Study: Human Resources, Business, Business Law, Communications, or related business degree

Desired Skills: Highly motivated and results-driven, with a commitment to excellence. Robust work ethic, with strong attention to detail and analytical skills. Strong team players, who are able to accept constructive criticism positively with an openness for continuous improvement.  

Minimum Requirements: Undergraduate student in pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year school or university, 3.0 GPA
