Consumer & Business Banking | Summer Internship Program Details

Program Overview

The Retail Banking Summer Internship Program, Consumer & Business Banking track, exposes interns to sales, relationship building and technical and professional skill development.

Interns will gain a deeper understanding of critical branch functions and roles including sales and service, teller, small business sales and branch management.

Interns will have the opportunity to work directly with customers and partners within the business. Travel to different office locations within market may occur throughout the duration of the internship.

What a Typical Day Looks Like

  • Department Exposure (inclusive of teller, platform, management and small business sales)
  • Formal/Virtual Training (including small-business credit fundamentals)
  • Mentorship and Job Shadow
  • Working with customers/prospects and conducting joint/individual meetings
  • Travel to local branches within market may occur

The Summer Internship Program is a direct pipeline for talent into the Retail (ACCEL) Early Career Development Program, Consumer & Business Banking track, providing interns with an unparalleled opportunity to learn the business while gaining visibility among the firm's senior leadership.

Upon successful completion of the Summer Internship, interns may be offered an opportunity to join the Retail (ACCEL) Early Career Development Program after graduation.

The Consumer & Business Banking track is a dynamic experience which prepares participants for various future career opportunities within Retail, including: Branch Manager (Traditional, Universal or In-Store Branch), Assistant Manager (Traditional, Universal, Business Banking Center), Business Banking Specialist, Business Banking Sales Associate.

Preferred Areas of Study: Sales, Management or related majors

Desired Skills: Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with an interest in relationship building through consultative sales. Customer Service, Flexibility, Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, Goal-oriented, Risk Management and Problem-Solving. 

Minimum Requirements: Undergraduate student in pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year school or university, 3.0 GPA, access to reliable transportation preferred.
