About the Challenge

In 1995, the Father/Son Challenge was created by the International Management Group (IMG) to provide an opportunity for professional golfers to play competitive golf alongside their sons. Since 2012, PNC has been the presenting sponsor of the event. The sponsorship reflects the values of the groups involved and their focus on relationships, family and community.

Among the most unique events in golf, all father participants must have won a Major tournament on the PGA Tour to be eligible to participate. Event highlights at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club at Grande Lakes Resort in Orlando include 20 teams, a $1,085,000 purse and over 35 hours of national coverage on NBC and the Golf Channel.

This is a favorite event for the players because it allows them to have experiences with their families that they can’t get anywhere else.

"Winning this tournament was the icing on the cake, but it's the time spent with my sons - which is so rare these days - that I look forward to most."

- Stewart Cink
