William S. Demchak joined PNC in 2002 as chief financial officer. In July 2005, he was named head of PNC's Corporate & Institutional Banking responsible for PNC's middle market and large corporate businesses, as well as capital markets, real estate finance, equity management and leasing. Demchak was promoted to senior vice chairman in 2009 and named head of PNC businesses in August 2010. He was elected president in April 2012 and chief executive officer in April 2013.

Executive Chariman
James E. Rohr is executive chairman and former chief executive officer of The PNC Financial Services Group, one of the largest diversified financial services companies in the United States.
Rohr joined PNC's management development program in 1972. Over more than 40 years with the company, he has held a variety of leadership positions, including vice chairman, director and chief operating officer. Named chief executive officer in 2000, Rohr oversaw the company's expansion from an institution that served customers primarily in two states to one of the largest regional banks in the country, with a footprint covering one-third of the U.S. population. During his time as CEO, the company grew assets four-fold and engaged in 10 acquisitions, including the integrations of National City and the retail branch network of RBC Bank (USA). For his leadership, Rohr was named American Banker's "Banker of the Year" for 2007. He stepped down as chief executive officer in April 2013.
Rohr is a director of BlackRock, Inc., ATI, ECHO Realty, EQT Corporation, GE and Marathon Petroleum Corporation and is past chair of The Financial Services Roundtable. He is president of the Federal Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve System. He is a past chairman of the Pennsylvania Business Roundtable, former director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland and former chairman of BITS, the technology group for The Financial Services Roundtable.
As chairman of PNC, Rohr provided the vision for PNC Grow Up Great, the company's $350 million, multi-year, bilingual initiative that began in 2004 to support early childhood education. To promote that cause, he has presented to national organizations across the country, testified before Congress about the importance of preparing children for school and called for universal access to early childhood education programming. And PNC has was recognized with the Excellence in Corporate Philanthropy Award by the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy for this initiative.
In addition, Rohr supports a number of civic, cultural and educational organizations. He serves on the board of directors for The Heinz Endowments; is a member of the board of trustees and serves on the executive committee for the Committee for Economic Development; is a member of the boards of trustees Carnegie Mellon University and The University of Notre Dame; is past chairman and a member of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust; and is past chairman of the Allegheny Conference on Community Development.
Over the years, Rohr has earned numerous industry and community awards. In October 2006, he received the Woodrow Wilson Award for Corporate Citizenship. In May 2007, Rohr received the Sesame Workshop Corporate Honoree Award. In May 2008 he received the Women's Institute for a Secure Retirement (WISER) Hero Award from the Heinz Family Philanthropies. Rohr also was named a Horatio Alger Award recipient for 2011 by the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans. In addition, under his leadership PNC has been recognized by a number of organizations and has received honors that have included the Gallup Great Workplace Award, listing among the Working Mother 100 Best Companies, and the Urban Land Institute and Financial Times Sustainable Cities Award for eco-friendly business practices.
Rohr earned his bachelor of arts degree in 1970 from the University of Notre Dame and his master's in business administration from The Ohio State University in 1972.
