William A. Kosis

William A. Kosis is Chief Executive Officer of PNC Business Credit.

Kosis joined PNC Business Credit as Chief Executive Officer at its inception in 1997. Previously, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of IBJ Schroder Business Credit. He started the asset based lending division of IBJ Schroder Bank & Trust, and expanded the group into a well-respected national industry participant. Kosis also managed the Bank of New York Middle Market Northern Team, and later started and managed the bank's Middle Market Connecticut division. He began his career in the management training program at G.E. Capital.

Kosis received his B.A. from Penn State University and his MBA from the University of Connecticut. He also completed post graduate work at the Graduate School of Credit and Finance at Stanford University.

Kosis is a member of the Commercial Finance Association and the New York Runners Club.

Lee LaBine

SVP & Chief Operating Officer

PNC Business Credit


Lee LaBine is Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for PNC Business Credit. He directly supports the CEO of Business Credit and is responsible for overseeing business administrative functions, including regulatory and compliance activities, performance management and analytics, business resiliency and operational risk.

LaBine joined PNC Business Credit in 2002 as a vice president and relationship manager and has 20+ years of experience in asset based lending and highly leveraged, secured lending transactions with a variety of institutions in Chicago, IL. He began his career as a loan officer for American National Bank & Trust Co. of Chicago.

In 2007, LaBine was promoted to portfolio manager for PNC Business Credit’s Upper Midwest Region, later promoted to senior vice president, and was named a Chairman's Circle Award Winner that same year. Most recently, LaBine managed the Business Credit loan portfolio for both the Upper Midwest and Canada.

LaBine received a degree from the University of North Dakota and an MBA from the Charles H. Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at DePaul University.

Gail K. Bernstein

Gail K. Bernstein is Executive Vice President and National Investment Manager for PNC Business Credit. She is responsible for oversight of the cross-selling of all PNC Bank products and services to current and prospective PNC Business Credit clients.

Bernstein joined PNC Business Credit to open its West Coast office in 1998 as Western Region Marketing Manager. Previously, she was National Sales and Marketing Manager for Wells Fargo’s asset-based lending unit. Bernstein was also Senior Credit Officer and National Marketing Director for Signal Capital Corporation’s asset-based unit, and Managing Director of Bank of America’s Latin American Private Banking division.

She received her B.A. from Loyola Marymount University and her MBA from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. Bernstein also completed the Smith Management Program at Smith College. 

She serves on the executive committee of the National Commercial Finance Association and is Vice Chair of the education committee, in addition to serving on the board of the Los Angeles Chapter. Bernstein’s active memberships include the Commercial Finance Association (board and various committees), the Turnaround Management Association, the Association for Corporate Growth, the Women’s Leadership Council and the Jonathan Club.

George G. Cole, Jr.

George G. Cole, Jr. is Executive Vice President and Director of Internal Controls for PNC Business Credit. He is responsible for oversight of PNC Business Credit’s Underwriting, Field Examination, and Operations groups nationally, including regional offices in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, New York, Charlotte, Dallas, Chicago and Pasadena.

Cole joined PNC Business Credit in 2003 and has nearly 30 years of experience in commercial finance and middle market lending. He began his career with Mellon Bank in the asset-based lending group after successfully completing the bank's credit training program. While at Mellon, Cole held various senior management positions in field examination, underwriting, business development and relationship management.

He received his B.A. from Widener University.

Cole is a member of the Commercial Finance Association and previously served on the board of the Cherry Hill Atlantic Little League. 

Peter J. Mardaga

EVP & Western Division Executive

Peter J. Mardaga is Executive Vice President and Western Division Executive for PNC Business Credit. He is responsible for oversight of the teams that handle all new business development and relationship management for PNCBC’s Western division, which includes the West, Southwest, Upper Midwest, Canada and the Southeast.

Mardaga joined The PNC Financial Services Group in 1992 and has been with PNC Business Credit since its formation in 1997. He has served in a number of senior sales, portfolio and managerial positions within PNC Business Credit and was also Chief Operating Officer. Mardaga started his career with Wachovia Bank.

He received his B.S. and MBA from Fordham University.

Mardaga is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, the Commercial Finance Association and the Turnaround Management Association.

W. Craig Stillwagon

EVP & Eastern Division Executive

W. Craig Stillwagon is Executive Vice President and Eastern Division Executive for PNC Business Credit. He is responsible for oversight of the teams that handle all new business development and relationship management for PNCBC’s Eastern division, which includes the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest and the United Kingdom.

Stillwagon joined PNC Business Credit in 1997. He began his career with Marine Midland Bank (now HSBC) in the NYC Midtown Commercial Lending Group after successfully completing the bank's Accelerated Credit Training Program. Stillwagon has over 30 years of experience in middle market lending and business development, including experience with Norwest Bank (now Wells Fargo) and CIT Business Credit.

He received his B.A. from Denison University and completed post graduate work at the University of Nevada.

Stillwagon is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, the Turnaround Management Association and the Commercial Finance Association. 

Brian MacConnell

EVP & Division Executive, Specialty Products

PNC Business Credit


Brian MacConnell is Executive Vice President and Division Executive of PNC Business Credit (PNCBC), a division of PNC Bank N.A. He is responsible for the oversight of PNCBC’s specialty lending products comprising Steel City Capital Funding, a provider of cash flow and 2nd lien financing; PNC Technology Finance, which leverages the recurring revenue of sponsor backed software companies; and the Cerberus PNC Senior Loan Fund LLC, a provider of large first out cash flow financings.

MacConnell joined PNC Business Credit in 1997 as one of its founding members and oversaw the creation of over $6 billion in new client loans in support of middle market leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations and restructurings. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President and Eastern Division Executive for PNC Business Credit.

MacConnell is a graduate of Syracuse University with a degree in Finance and Marketing and received his M.B.A. from Rutgers University. He is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, the Commercial Finance Association and the Turnaround Management Association.

David Gaito

Senior Vice President & Upper Midwest/Canada/Southeast Regional Executive

David Gaito is Senior Vice President and Upper Midwest/Canada/Southeast Regional Executive for PNC Business Credit. He is responsible for oversight of all new business development and portfolio management for the Upper Midwest, Southeast and Canada.

Since joining PNC in 1999, Gaito has held several positions within Business Credit. He has been a relationship manager, business development officer, senior originator, and team leader across several of PNC’s regions. Most recently, Gaito was the Upper Midwest sales manager, responsible for all aspects of the origination, structuring and loan closing process. He received a B.S. from Saint Vincent College and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. Gaito is a member of the Commercial Finance Association Institute, the Commercial Finance Association Society of Chicago, the Turnaround Management Association and serves on the board of the Chicago Children’s Museum.

Charles Garoklanian

SVP & Northeast Regional Executive

Charles Garoklanian is Senior Vice President and Northeast Regional Executive for PNC Business Credit. He is responsible for oversight of all new business development and portfolio management for the Northeast.

Garoklanian joined PNC Business Credit in 2001 as Senior Vice President and Northeast Marketing Manager. He has nearly 30 years of corporate banking experience beginning with Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co., where he completed the bank’s management and credit training program. Garoklanian has extensive experience in both asset-based lending and leveraged finance, largely developed at Fleet Capital and Deutsche Banc. At all three banks, he was responsible for market coverage of private equity groups, investment banking firms and other middle market intermediary groups. Garoklanian received his B.B.A. from Baruch University. He is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth and the Turnaround Management Association.

Thomas Hayes

SVP & Western Region Manager

Thomas Hayes is Senior Vice President and Western Region Manager for PNC Business Credit. He is responsible for all new business development and portfolio management for the West.

Hayes’ PNC career began in 2010 with the PNC Business Credit portfolio team. He then joined Steel City Capital Funding, supporting PNC Business Credit offices with cash flow-based term loans to supplement PNC’s asset-based lending offerings. Hayes was subsequently promoted to Western Region Manager for PNC Business Credit. Prior to joining PNC, he held leadership positions with First Bank Business Credit, Union Bank, and CIT Business Capital. Hayes received his B.S. from Northern Illinois University.

Mark Kiskorna

SVP & Midwest/Mid-Atlantic Regional Executive

Mark Kiskorna is Senior Vice President and Midwest/Mid-Atlantic Regional Executive for PNC Business Credit. He is responsible for oversight of all new business development and portfolio management for the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions. Prior to his promotion to Regional Executive, Kiskorna was the regional sales manager for the Midwest.

Previously, he was a business development officer in PNC Business Credit's New York office. Kiskorna has over 25 years of experience in asset based and cash flow lending and business development. He began his career in the management training program of Northern Trust Bank in Chicago. Kiskorna has also held various lending positions with Fremont Financial Corp. and FINOVA Capital Corp. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame. Kiskorna is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, the Turnaround Management Association and the Commercial Finance Association.

H. John Tyler III

SVP & Western/Southwest Regional Executive

H. John Tyler III is Senior Vice President and Western/Southwest Regional Executive for PNC Business Credit. He is responsible for oversight of all new business development and portfolio management, for the Southwest and Western regions, which includes the group’s portfolio of energy loans.

Tyler joined PNC as a senior business development officer in 2002, following PNC’s acquisition of National Bank of Canada’s U.S. asset-based portfolio. He then became the Southwest marketing manager and subsequently Southwest region manager. Prior to joining PNC Business Credit, Tyler was a vice president with National Bank of Canada’s asset-based lending division. He began his career with Whitney National Bank in the Credit and Corporate Lending departments, specializing in middle-market commercial transactions across the Gulf South region. Tyler received his B.S. from the University of New Orleans. He is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, the Turnaround Management Association and the Commercial Finance Association. Tyler has served on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement and is actively involved with Volunteers of America, the United Way and Literacy Instruction for Texas.

Kurt V. Putkonen

SVP & Southwest Region Manager

Kurt V. Putkonen is Senior Vice President and Southwest Region Manager. He is responsible for oversight of new business development and portfolio management for the Southwest.

Putkonen joined PNC Business Credit in 1998 when he opened the Atlanta office. He subsequently was appointed Southeast Region Business Development Manager and Southeast Region Portfolio Manager for PNC Business Credit. Previously, Putkonen worked at SunTrust Bank. He began his career with Marine Midland Business Credit. Putkonen received his B.S. from Northern Illinois University and his M.S. from DePaul University. He is a member of the Commercial Finance Association, Turnaround Management Association, a past member of the Atlanta Venture Forum, and served as a board member of the Atlanta Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth. He is a past chairman of the Atlanta ACG Capital Connection.
