Household Requests
CCPA defines a Household as a person or group of people who:
- Reside at the same address
Example: All household members reside at 123 Main Street, San Diego CA 91945
- Share a common device or the same service provided by a business
Example: All household members must be on the same account.
- Are identified by the business as sharing the same group account or unique identifier
Example: All household members must be joint owners/co-signers of the shared account.
Note: Only information on accounts with joint ownership will be returned; information about accounts owned by individuals (not joint owners) will not be returned.
Example of a Household Request
Household Individual #1 | Household Individual #2 | Household Individual #3 |
Credit Card (#123) Mortgage (#456) 1Checking Account (#789) |
Credit Card (#123) 1Checking Account (#789) |
1Checking Account (#789) |
1Checking Account (#789) – For example, in the Household request above, only Checking Account information will be returned.
To avoid receiving partial account information or none at all, PNC recommends each household member make an Individual request and not combine with other members of the household to make a Household request.
To Make a Household Request:
Step 1: Each household member must submit a Retrieve Data or Delete Data request. All of the member requests must be the same—either Retrieve Data or Delete Data requests.
Step 2: After submitting the individual requests, each household member must email 2dsar_householdrequests@pnc.com and request that their Retrieve Data or Delete Data request be combined with the other members of their household. Each email must include the full names of every person in the household and the case reference numbers for each member’s individual Retrieve Data or Delete Data request.
Note: If PNC does not receive email requests from every household member within seven (7) calendar days of the date on which the first request was submitted, or cannot verify any household member’s identity, the Household request will not be processed. Instead, PNC will process each verified request on an individual basis.
