PNC is proud to host special activities throughout the month, including an economic outlook webinar for manufacturers, educational tools like white papers and podcasts, outreach to thousands of clients and prospects, and special product offers. Many of these events can be considered year-round as ways to engage with your local community. For information, visit pnc.com/manufacturingmonth.
The fun kicks off on October 3, National Manufacturing Day 2014, an annual event that features community activities to raise awareness about modern manufacturing technology and careers. Students, teachers, parents, job seekers and other local community members are invited to tour manufacturing facilities in order to gain greater understanding of the industry.
Events and tours across the country are being added to the events calendar every day. PNC is helping to arrange tours by working with local NIST Manufacturing Extension Partnerships.
For help promoting the industry year-round, you can download flyers, logos and infographics from the official website http://www.mfgday.com/resources/manufacturer. This manufacturers’ resource center can also give you quick facts and talking points to use on your website or when speaking at a local school or community celebration.
Consider hosting a tour at your facility during any time of the year. Not only will it provide you with an opportunity to tell your company’s story, it will also help dispel myths about manufacturing, inspire a new generation and connect with your community. Go to the Manufacturing Day 2014 website http://www.mfgday.com for guides and other support, or contact your PNC Business Banker for ideas.
