Dan Harty Derivatives Head of Bank Capital Markets Compliance, PNC Bank, N.A.

Dan Harty joined PNC in August, 2011, as PNC Bank, N.A.'s Derivatives Chief Compliance Officer, a newly created position mandated by the CFTC under Title VII of Dodd Frank. He is responsible for all derivatives activities conducted by PNC Bank, N.A., including those resulting from its expected registration as a swap dealer. Harty is also responsible for implementing the Volcker Rule, asset and liability management, merchant banking activities and the Capital Finance group.

Throughout Harty's tenure in the financial services industry, he has represented a self-regulatory organization, federal regulators, and numerous types of entities regulated by the SEC and CFTC. Before joining PNC, Dan worked for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation as a Corporate Expert in the Capital Markets Branch of the Division of Risk Management Supervision in Washington, D.C.

He received a bachelor's degree in 1993 from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana and his juris doctor degree from the DePaul University College of Law in 2002.
