Every person has unique attributes and abilities. Linda Block, president of Industrial Staffing Services Inc. (ISSI), helps deliver those talents to employers seeking qualified candidates to fill full-time, part-time, temporary and permanent positions.
"ISSI is a global full-service staffing company that can help employers identify an ideal candidate or hundreds," Linda says. "We work with clients and candidates, helping each person find the ideal position. Our mission is to 'staff the universe, one person at a time.'"
Since its launch in 2003, ISSI - one of several staffing firms in which Linda holds an interest - has grown into a $50 million business. Her staffing expertise plays an integral role in its success, but she also credits her multiple certifications, including Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), State of New Jersey Minority Business Enterprise/Women's Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE), Empire State Development (New York state) Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE), and Nassau County MBE/WBE certifications.
Linda explains, "When you're dealing with major corporations as we often do, certifications are critical to satisfying their supplier diversity needs. It gives you an edge in becoming a vendor of choice."
How ISSI Stands Apart
With 60 full-time employees staffing five offices in New Jersey, New York City, Long Island, Palm Beach and Atlanta, ISSI places approximately 3,000 candidates a year. The company reaches beyond the geographies of its offices through a "click and mortar" model that enables employers to seek candidates through the Internet and candidates to apply and test electronically. ISSI carefully screens candidates through telephone, video and in-person interviews, and has an onboarding team to help prepare candidates for their new positions.
