PNC Celebrates Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month
At PNC, we believe that diversity initiatives make good business sense. We support diversity and inclusion in many ways, including programs that engage our customers, communities, employees and suppliers. May is Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month, and through a variety of events and sponsorships, PNC recognizes the important contributions of Asian-Pacific Americans in the workforce. PNC commemorates Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month this year with events in:
- Indianapolis: May 11
PNC is sponsoring the sixth annual Asian Fest on Saturday, May 11 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at White River State Park. This event celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Asia that can be found in central Indiana and is part of "Get Down On It," a city-wide celebration that marks the official opening of the Indianapolis Cultural Trail. Festival highlights include Asian food, games, cultural performances and a traditional costumes fashion show.
- Pittsburgh: May 10 - 19
PNC is sponsoring the eighth annual Silk Screen Asian American Film Festival at select theaters in Pittsburgh. The festival showcases films and filmmakers with origins in India, Japan, China, Taiwan, Indonesia, Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, Iran and more. Silk Screen's goals include educating communities about Asian and Asian American history, culture, experiences and issues, fostering understanding across lines of race, ethnicity, religion, age, and region, and sustaining growth and encouraging excellence in Asian American culture.
