Jill Hall
President
Repro Graphix, Inc.

"We wanted to do business with a bank that has a philanthropic heart. We found that heart in PNC."

Community Engagement Fuels Exponential Growth

Jill Hall, president and co-owner of Repro Graphix Inc., and her husband and co-owner Brian Hall, believe in giving back. The Halls and their 30-employee staff support more than 50 nonprofit organizations in the communities they serve, from providing pro bono services and contributing their personal time and expertise to offering financial support. Their work in the community is pivotal to their business success.

"Our customers appreciate our community involvement. Many have said that they realize doing business with us helps perpetuate giving. When a project comes up, we hope they think of us," says Jill.

When the Halls established Repro Graphix in 1985, their core business was construction. "We provided blueprints and other documents for architects, engineers and construction companies," explains Jill. "We found broader needs in the corporate community, however, and over the years, we have diversified to become a full-service, on-demand provider of print collateral and display graphics."

Today, the three-location reprographer produces everything from trade show displays, banners and fence graphics to backlit signs, posters, floor and wall graphics, and window adhesives. The firm stays true to its traditional business as well, providing the AEC (architecture/engineering/construction) industry with construction drawings and specification manuals, plus an online Planroom where customers enjoy bidder tracking, project communication and distribution services.

"Diversifying was a great strategic move for us, because we were more resilient when the recession hit the construction market," says Jill. But diversification has done much more than ensure the survival of Repro Graphix; it has spurred substantial growth. "The color graphics side of our business is catapulting past the construction side. We are very excited about our momentum and look forward to continuing growth," she adds.

Like-minded Business Partners

When Jill chooses business partners, she looks for not only professional support but also a community-focused mentality. "We had been with our banking partner for many years when I met representatives from PNC through a variety of community activities," she shares. "PNC was involved with the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), where I've served as a member and president; with ATHENAPowerLink, where I served on the board; and with organizations including St. Mary's Child Center, which serves the area's poverty-stricken children. We wanted to do business with a bank that has a philanthropic heart. We found that heart in PNC."

Jill says that her banking team, from her local representatives to the regional president, is engaged and involved. "Our banker is always looking for ways to help our business, and the entire PNC team is committed to supporting the business community - women-owned businesses in particular - as well as the nonprofit community," she says. "PNC's level of engagement inspired us to build a relationship with them. We are delighted to work with a banking team who shares our philosophy of giving back."
