I'm Christel Vasquez, administrator of Caring For You Home Health. Caring For You Home Health was started by my mom over 30 years ago. It is the story of an immigrant who barely spoke English coming into the United States. Her drive is what got her through nursing school. She saw that this was a business where you could help people.

She started this business out of our living room. I remember how excited I was because we had a copy machine in the house so I could do my my poster boards. Through word of mouth, her business grew. We currently have, about 2000 employees and we probably have about 1200 clients. My oldest brother and myself run the business along with my sister working here.

Estate planning actually started about ten years prior. She admitted to me I don't want to think about that. And she finally did her will. And she set up her trust. And she did it without thinking this was ever going to happen as quickly as it did. And a little after a year of her setting it up and starting to make the changes, she had a cerebral aneurysm. Extremely, extremely unexpected.

We think we're going to be here for forever, but it doesn't happen that way. And my biggest advice is you have to plan ahead no matter how hard it is. And what is the plan for what's going to happen to the others that are still here? Because we had established a protocol, we were able to continue our business because we have thousands of people that rely on us.

When the key personnel are gone, what is your plan? To have somebody come in and know what they're doing and not just be caught with the unexpected? The relationship you have with your banker is very important, that you have some sort of relationship, that you have your contact people. But if you don't have that in order, then you're caught like a deer in the headlights.

And so that is the most important thing. She felt was her greatest goal in life was to help others. That was another goal of this business, was to help all of her family and leave it for the future. I’m Christel Vasquez, my company is Caring For You Home Health. And I'm sharing these tips because I feel money is every woman's business.
