Military veterans have long provided an invaluable service by demonstrating courage, sacrifice, and commitment to protecting the freedoms and security that American citizens enjoy every day. To honor that commitment, PNC has partnered with the Military Warriors Support Foundation to support mortgage-free home donations.

This year, PNC celebrates 10 years with MWSF, in a partnership that has helped provide nine homes through the Homes4WoundedHeroes and two vehicles through the Vehicles4Heroes programs. Since 2015, PNC’s participation has helped to facilitate housing and transportation for more than 20 adults and more than 25 children.

“Veterans sacrifice so much for our country and communities—they deserve our full support as they transition back to civilian life,” said Stacy Juchno, General Auditor and co-executive sponsor of PNC’s Military Employee Business Resource Group. “We recognize that this transition can be challenging, and we’re proud to continue partnering with MWSF to express our deep gratitude for their service.”

Since 2015, PNC has participated in the home donation program by contributing one mortgage-free home per year – generally announced around Veterans Day. This November, the next phase of the partnership will continue as PNC is committing to pay down a portion of three mortgages for veterans and their families in three of the bank’s markets – Dallas, Denver and Tampa. Past donations have benefited veteran families in Chicago, Pittsburgh, Atlanta and most recently, Cincinnati, among other markets.

Overall, MWSF has donated more than 900 mortgage-free homes and 130 payment-free vehicles to veterans and Gold Star families across the country. Each donation is accompanied by financial literacy programming to support the recipient’s overall financial wellbeing.

PNC’s participation in the Homes4WoundedHeroes program is part of its overall commitment to serving veterans and their families:

  • PNC has had a long-standing partnership with a service dog organization to provide trained service animals to veterans;
  • Through PNC’s military Employee Business Resource Group, the bank is working to raise awareness of the unique skills of military veterans through recruiting, mentoring and community engagement. The group is 10 chapters and more than 2,000 employees strong across the country;
  • Additionally, PNC’s Military Banking program offers unique account perks, loan programs and a military debit affinity card for veterans, active-duty military members, and veteran-owned small businesses.

“Supporting veterans is about sustained commitment to their wellbeing and success,” said Jay Wilkinson, Executive Vice President of HR Metrics at PNC and co-executive sponsor of PNC’s Military EBRG. “We’re honored to continue partnering with the Military Warriors Support Foundation in this mission and committed to continue looking for ways to make a lasting difference in the lives of those who’ve served.”
