Alex Overstrom

Head of Retail Banking

Alex Overstrom is executive vice president and head of Retail Banking for The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. In this role, he is responsible for leading all of PNC’s consumer and small business banking areas, serving the full needs of millions of clients across the United States. As part of that, Overstrom oversees PNC’s home lending and consumer lending businesses, the consumer and small business bank, which includes deposit products, payments and digital, as well as PNC Wealth Management. In addition, he is responsible for the company’s enterprise customer advocacy area as well as the corporate strategy team.

Prior to being named to his current role, Overstrom served as head of Small Business and deputy head of Retail Banking. In this role, he oversaw Business Banking, PNC Merchant Services and Small Business Treasury Management, as well as being responsible for all product management, product development, digital, marketing, risk, data and strategy areas for PNC Small Business. As deputy head of Retail Banking, Overstrom helped drive the strategic direction of PNC’s overall retail banking franchise.

Overstrom joined PNC in 2014 from Goldman Sachs where he spent eight years in Firmwide Strategy and Investment Banking. Since joining PNC, he has held a variety of roles across the company, including head of PNC Merchant Services, chief operating officer of Corporate & Institutional Banking and Asset Management, and head of PNC Aviation Finance.

Outside of PNC, he serves as a board member of Early Warning Systems, LLC, the owner and operator of Zelle and PAZE, the Consumer Bankers Association, the Carnegie Museum of Art and Pittsburgh CLO.

Overstrom holds a bachelor’s degree in public policy from Duke University.
