Alex Overstrom

Alex Overstrom is executive vice president and head of Retail Banking for The PNC Financial Services Group. In this role, he is responsible for leading all of PNC's consumer and small business segments, serving millions of customers across the United States. In addition, Overstrom oversees PNC Merchant Services, PNC Investments, digital, client care and PNC’s enterprise customer advocacy area.

Prior to being named to his current role, Overstrom served as head of Small Business and deputy head of Retail Banking. In this role, he oversaw Business Banking, PNC Merchant Services and Small Business Treasury Management, as well as being responsible for all product management, product development, digital, marketing, risk, data and strategy areas for PNC Small Business. As deputy head of Retail Banking, Overstrom helped drive the strategic direction of PNC’s overall retail banking franchise.

Overstrom joined PNC in 2014 from Goldman Sachs, where he spent eight years in Firmwide Strategy and Investment Banking. Since joining PNC, he has held a variety of roles across the company, including head of PNC Merchant Services, chief operating officer of Corporate & Institutional Banking and Asset Management, and head of PNC Aviation Finance.

Beyond his operating role, Overstrom serves on PNC's Corporate Diversity Council and is a board member of numo, a PNC fintech startup subsidiary company. Overstrom also worked to establish and help lead the acquisition review for PNC’s former diversity and inclusion focused SPAC, Empowerment & Inclusion Capital I.

Outside of PNC, he serves as a board member of The Carnegie Museum of Art, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and is chairman of the board of the Pittsburgh CLO.

Overstrom holds a bachelor’s degree in public policy from Duke University.
