Michael J. Abriatis
General Auditor
Michael J. Abriatis is executive vice president and general auditor of The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. In this role, he is responsible for all aspects of the internal audit function providing assurance on the effectiveness of PNC’s risk management, control and governance processes to the audit committee and board of directors.
Prior to being named to his current role in February 2026, Abriatis served as the head of Non-Financial Risk Management for PNC. In this role, he was responsible for the design, integration and execution of PNC’s non-financial risks including the management of PNC’s second line of defense (2LOD) Enterprise Compliance team, Operational Risk Management team, Information Technology Risk Management and the teams that perform independent testing and control validation.
Abriatis joined PNC in 2003 and has held numerous positions including chief compliance officer, interim head of Bank Secrecy/Anti-Money Laundering & Sanctions, chief operational risk officer and Corporate & Institutional Banking (C&IB) chief operating officer and Corporate Banking chief financial officer.
He is a member of the board for the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Heart Association and chairs the Compliance Risk Management Council for ProSight Financial Association.
Abriatis earned his undergraduate degree from Washington & Jefferson College and MBA from Case Western Reserve’s Weatherhead School of Business.
