Brian Kelly is a managing director and the head of PNC Healthcare. He joined PNC in January of 2016 to support PNC’s healthcare efforts by providing strategic direction and leveraging his extensive healthcare leadership background to lead the healthcare team at PNC.
Prior to PNC, Kelly was executive vice president and chief financial officer at Excela Health where he was responsible for oversight of the organization’s accounting, patient financial services, treasury and other finance related functions. Preceding his work at Excela, Kelly held management positions at Kaufman Hall, The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Arthur Andersen and Huron Consulting Group. He has spent the majority of his career developing financial, strategic, and capital plans, assessing joint ventures, partnerships, and affiliation options, advising on mergers, acquisitions, and divestiture transactions, as well as performing both operational turnarounds and financial restructurings.
Kelly has been a regular speaker at healthcare industry conferences presenting on numerous topics ranging from the changing healthcare industry to the challenges of financial planning in distressed economic environments. Kelly also has been a contributing author for several industry thought leadership pieces in publications including HFMA’s Healthcare Cost Containment, Healthcare Finance Blog, and Strategic Financial Planning.
In addition to his professional career, Kelly is a board member of Rainbow Kitchen Community Services in Homestead, Pennsylvania. Kelly holds an M.B.A., with a concentration in Corporate Finance, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he is also a member of the Board of Trustees.
