While the name is changing, the features you rely on, like no overdraft fees, digital banking tools and the $5 monthly service charge will remain the same.

What's Staying the Same

  • Your account number, digital tools, and digital access will remain unchanged.
  • Access to digital tools. Keep using features like Zelle®[1], customizable alerts, and more in the PNC Mobile app and Online Banking.[2]
  • Branch and ATM access. Enjoy coast-to-coast access to PNC branches and ATMs.[3]
  • Transfers between accounts. Move money easily between your PNC accounts, just like you always have.

  • Account name. Your account will be updated to PNC Simple Checking.
  • More ways to avoid the $5 monthly service charge
    • You’re age 62 or over (already available)[4]
    • You’re under age 25 (new)[4]
    • You receive a qualifying direct deposit during the statement period (new)[5]

PNC Direct Deposit makes it easy to set up deposits from your employer, pension, Social Security, or other income — all within the PNC Mobile app, with no paper forms needed.

No. Any direct deposits, automatic payments, or other account activity you’ve set up will continue without interruption.

If you haven’t updated to the latest version of the PNC Mobile app, your account may still appear as “Foundation Checking.” Once you update the app, you’ll see the new name — PNC Simple Checking. Don’t worry, your account has already been updated, and everything will continue to work as usual.
