Overview

PNC Flex Pay is a personal installment loan product offered at participating merchants. PNC Flex Pay gives you the ability to spread the cost of your purchase over a set number of installment payments at a fixed interest rate. Loan amounts range from $1,000 to $10,000 with various repayment terms. 

Currently, PNC Flex Pay can only be used for purchases at participating merchant locations

PNC Flex Pay can be used at any participating merchant location. Each PNC Flex Pay loan is specific to the participating merchant location and is not transferrable to other merchants or locations.

To apply for a PNC Flex Pay loan:

  1. Use your mobile device to scan the QR code at participating merchant locations. After scanning, click on the link that appears on your mobile device screen. From there, you can begin your application.
  2. Alternatively, if you received a PNC Flex Pay Code from a participating merchant, you can enter PNC Flex Pay Code

Yes. There is no impact to your credit to review your available offers. If you choose to accept an offer and proceed with the application, PNC will perform a credit check.

PNC Flex Pay loans cannot be used to purchase gift cards, extended warranties or insurance products. PNC Flex Pay is not available in California, Florida, or Washington. Residents in those states are also ineligible and will not be able to complete the PNC Flex Pay application.

Using PNC Flex Pay to Finance Your Purchase

If you experience issues during your PNC Flex Pay loan application, you can call 1-888-311-3917 for assistance.

If you are approved for a PNC Flex Pay loan, you will be prompted to review and electronically sign your loan documents. After the documents are signed, you will be provided a single use virtual payment card that can be stored in your mobile wallet. You can complete your purchase once the virtual payment card is added to your mobile wallet. Please note that the virtual payment card must be used by the date specified in your application, which will generally be within three days of issuance.

If you are unable to load the virtual payment card to your mobile wallet, you can provide the card details at checkout to complete your purchase.

Here are a few reasons why your virtual payment card may have been declined: 

  • You attempted to use the virtual payment card after the date specified in your application. The virtual payment card must be used by the date provided in the application, which is generally within three days of issuance. 
  • You attempted to use the virtual payment card at a different location or with another merchant. The virtual payment card can only be used at the merchant location from which you scanned the OR code or obtained your application. It is not transferrable to other locations or businesses.
  • Your purchase amount is different than the final loan amount for which you were approved. The transaction amount at the time of payment should match your loan amount.

Currently, PNC Flex Pay loan accounts are not available to be viewed in PNC’s Online Banking or PNC’s Mobile Banking app. 

After completing your purchase, you will be mailed a welcome letter which will provide your loan details, including information about how to make a payment.

You will also be mailed monthly loan statements that will provide loan and payment details.

Currently, PNC Flex Pay loan accounts are not available to be viewed in PNC’s Online Banking or PNC’s Mobile Banking app. 

Yes, PNC will mail monthly loan statements for your PNC Flex Pay account. Your first statement will be sent prior to the first payment becoming due.

Details about your PNC Flex Pay loan, including your monthly payment amount and due date, will be included in your welcome letter. We will also send monthly loan statements in the mail that include payment details.

Payments cannot be made at participating merchant locations. Please refer to the below FAQ for details about how you can make payments on your PNC Flex Pay loan.

We provide several ways for you to make a payment:

  • Phone: You can call 1-888-311-3917 to make your monthly payment. You can utilize the automated telephone service to speak with a live agent.
  • Mail: You can send your payment to the P.O. Box printed on the remit slip on your monthly statement. 
  • Bill Pay: If you have a PNC Checking or Savings account, you can take the following steps to make a payment using Bill Pay: 
    • Sign on to PNC Online Banking or the PNC Mobile Banking app and navigate to the Bill Pay screen.
    • Select PNC Flex Play as the payee to establish Bill Pay for your account.
    • Enter your PNC Flex Pay loan account number.
    • Select the date to schedule your payment.

Note: Same day payments are not available through Bill Pay; you will need to schedule your payment at least one business day in advance of your due date to make your payment on time.

If available, you may also utilize bill pay options offered by other financial institutions. Please check with your financial institution to ensure payments will be received on time.

Branch employees cannot provide any account information on PNC Flex Pay loans. All account questions should be directed to
1-888-311-3917. Also, our PNC Branch locations cannot accept payments on PNC Flex Pay loans at this time. 

PNC does not currently offer automated payment options for PNC Flex Pay.

Yes, if you would like to pay off your PNC Flex Pay loan early, please call 1-888-311-3917 and follow the menu prompts to speak with a customer service agent to ensure you have the correct payoff amount. There will be no prepayment penalty for paying your loan off early.

Once you have paid off your PNC Flex Pay loan in full, it can take up to 30 days after your payment to reflect the payoff on your credit report. Once the payment has been fully processed, you will be mailed a letter confirming that your loan has been paid in full.

PNC does not currently offer this feature for PNC Flex Pay.

Return / Disputes

If you have questions about your PNC Flex Pay loan please call us at 1-888-311-3917. Our agents are available Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM ET and Saturday - Sunday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET.

Returns and exchanges are between you and the merchant and are subject to the merchant's policies over which we have no control. If you wish to return your purchase, please visit the participating location.

We will apply any credits we receive from the merchant to your outstanding loan balance. If the credit does not satisfy your outstanding loan balance, you must continue to make regularly scheduled payments until all amounts due are paid. Please note that it may take several days for a credit to reflect on your loan balance. Please refer to your loan agreement for details.

For questions about your balance after a return, please call 1-888-311-3917. 

No. You are still required to make your regularly scheduled monthly payments until your balance is paid in full. However, any credit received as a result of a return may cause your loan maturity date to occur sooner than it was originally scheduled.

If you are not satisfied with the goods or services acquired with the proceeds of your loan, you must first try to resolve that dispute with the merchant. If you are unable to resolve your dispute with the merchant, we may be able to assist. For us to assist with your dispute, you must contact us within 60 days of the date of your first monthly statement at 1-888-311-3917 or P.O. Box 3429, Pittsburgh, PA 15230-3429. While your dispute is under review, you must continue to make regularly scheduled payments pursuant to your loan agreement.
