Overview
PNC Flex Pay is a personal installment loan product offered at participating merchant store locations (also known as retail stores). PNC Flex Pay gives you the ability to spread the cost of your purchase over a set number of installment payments at a fixed interest rate. Loan amounts range from $1,000 to $10,000 with various repayment terms.

PNC Flex Pay can only be used at the merchant store location where the QR code was scanned. It is not transferrable to other stores or locations.
To apply for a PNC Flex Pay loan, use your mobile device to scan the QR code only found at participating retail store locations. You will find the QR codes located on PNC signage throughout the store. After opening the link, you will be asked to provide personal information to help determine what offers may be available.
You can check your rate without impacting your credit score by scanning the QR code in store and following the prompts on screen. If you choose to proceed with your application, a credit check will be required.
Yes, a credit check is required to obtain a PNC Flex Pay loan.
PNC Flex Pay loans cannot be used to purchase gift cards, extended warranties or insurance products. Items that must be delivered are also ineligible for financing with a PNC Flex Pay loan. PNC Flex Pay is currently not available in store locations in California, Washington, or Florida. Residents in those states are also ineligible and will not be able to complete the PNC Flex Pay application.
Using PNC Flex Pay to Finance Your Purchase
In the unlikely event that we are experiencing a system outage, you will be able to follow the link provided on screen to resume your application.
If you already have an application in progress, here are a couple of ways to resume that application:
- Scan the QR code in store and select "Resume an Application." You will be prompted to enter personal details associated with your application before you can resume.
- If your session expires, you will receive an email with a “resume” link that can be used to access your application. Upon clicking the link, you will be prompted to enter personal details associated with your application before you can resume.
For any other issues during your PNC Flex Pay loan application you can call 1-888-311-3917.
If you are approved for a PNC Flex Pay loan, you will be prompted to review and electronically sign your loan documents. After the documents are signed, you will be provided a single use virtual payment card that can be stored in your mobile wallet. Once added to your mobile wallet, you can complete your purchase while in the store, using the tap to pay feature at the checkout counter. Please note that the virtual payment card must be used by the date specified in your application, which will be within three days of issuance.
If you are unable to load the virtual payment card to your mobile wallet, you can provide the card details to the sales associate to complete your transaction.
Here are a few reasons your virtual payment card may have been declined:
- You may be attempting to use the card after its expiration. PNC Flex Pay virtual payment cards are only valid for a few days following the approval of your loan. Your expiration date is provided in the application.
- You may be attempting to use the card at a different location from where you obtained the PNC Flex Pay loan application. The virtual payment card can only be used in the same retail store location where you scanned the QR code and received loan approval. It is not transferrable.
- Your purchase amount is different than the final loan amount for which you were approved. The transaction amount at the register should match your loan amount.

Yes, PNC will mail monthly loan statements for your PNC Flex Pay account. The statement will be sent prior to the first payment becoming due.
Details about your PNC Flex Pay loan, including your monthly payment amount and due date, will be included in your welcome letter. We will also send monthly statements in the mail each month that include payment details.
No, you cannot pay your loan at a participating store location. Please refer to the below FAQ for details about how you can make payments on your PNC Flex Pay loan.
We provide several ways for you to make a payment:
- Phone: You can call 1-888-311-3917 to make your monthly payment. You can utilize the automated telephone service or press * to speak with a live agent.
- Mail: You can send your payment to the P.O. Box printed on the remit slip on your monthly statement.
- Bill Pay: If you have a PNC Checking or Savings account, sign on to PNC Online Banking or the PNC Mobile Banking app and choose the Bill Pay option. To establish Bill Pay for your account, select PNC Flex Play as the payee, enter your account number, and schedule your payment. Same day payments are not available through Bill Pay; you need to schedule your payment at least one business day in advance of your due date to make your payment on time. If available, you may also utilize bill pay options offered by other financial institutions. Please check with your financial institution to ensure payments will be received on time.
Branch employees cannot provide any account information on PNC Flex Pay loans. All account questions should be directed to
1-888-311-3917. Also, our PNC Branch locations cannot accept payments on PNC Flex Pay loans at this time.
PNC does not currently offer automated payment options for PNC Flex Pay. We are working hard to bring this experience to you soon.
Yes, if you would like to pay off your PNC Flex Pay loan early, please call 1-888-311-3917 and press * to speak with a live agent.

Please make sure to speak with a customer service agent prior to paying off your loan to ensure you have the correct amount. There will be no prepayment penalty for paying your loan off early.

Once you have paid off your PNC Flex Pay loan in full, it can take up to 30 days after your payment to reflect the payoff on your credit report. Once the payment has been fully processed, you will receive a letter confirming that your loan has been paid in full.

Return / Disputes

Returns and exchanges are between you and the merchant and are subject to the merchant's policies over which we have no control. If you wish to return your purchase, please visit the merchant store location.
We will apply any credits we receive from the merchant to your outstanding loan balance. If the merchant credit does not satisfy your outstanding loan balance, you must continue to make regularly scheduled payments until all amounts due are paid. Please note that it may take several days for a credit to reflect on your loan balance.
For questions about your balance after a return, please call 1-888-311-3917.
No. You are still required to make your regularly scheduled monthly payments until your balance is paid in full. However, any credit received as a result of a return may cause your loan maturity date to occur sooner than it was originally scheduled.
If you are not satisfied with the goods or services acquired with the proceeds of your loan, you must first try to resolve that dispute with the merchant. If you are unable to resolve your dispute with the merchant, we may be able to assist. For us to assist with your merchant dispute, you must contact us within 60 days of the date of your first monthly statement at 1-888-311-3917 or P.O. Box 3429, Pittsburgh, PA 15230-3429. While your dispute is under review, you must continue to make regularly scheduled payments pursuant to your loan agreement.
