International Employees

PNC WorkPlace Banking® has the banking resources to help you manage your finances.

Why You Need a United States Bank Account

While in the U.S., you will need to manage your finances efficiently & safely.

Deposits & Payments

A U.S. checking account is a place to deposit money that you receive. You’ll also be able to spend money or make purchases by writing checks, using a debit card or sending online payments.

Keeping Track of Your Money

A checking account will provide you with an accurate, monthly record of any funds that were deposited, spent or withdrawn. It’s more efficient than purchasing money orders and safer than carrying cash.

How To Apply for a PNC Bank Account

For International Employees

For U.S. Citizens and/or Resident Aliens

If you have a Social Security number and one of the following forms of identification:

  • A valid state issued driver's license, OR
  • A U.S. state-issued ID, OR
  • A U.S. military ID.

You can apply for a Virtual Wallet® product online or at a PNC branch.

For Non-U.S. Persons

You may work with a PNC Organizational Financial Wellness team member, or you must visit a PNC branch in person to apply for a Virtual Wallet product.

You must bring two forms of identification with you:

  • A valid passport or accepted consular ID with photograph is required. We will also need a photocopy of the identification.
  • A second form of ID is also needed. For example, your U.S. Issued Visa is an acceptable form of secondary identification.*

You can choose to complete the W8BEN tax form before your appointment or at the branch.

*For additional acceptable forms of secondary identification, consult your Organizational Financial Wellness, Financial Sales Consultant or your local branch.
