Students and employees need to select a PIN because Panther Cards linked to PNC accounts have the added safety of PIN-based security, requiring the user to enter their private PIN every time they wish to access an ATM or make a purchase. The linked Panther Card can then be used at ATMs and to make PIN-based purchases at retail locations on the STAR® and PLUS® networks.
