Peggy Hrindak has built a team of electricians and support personnel she believes is second to none in terms of capabilities and experience. Peggy began her career working at an electrical contracting company. She progressed to the role of operations manager, where she supervised the day-to-day performance of 80 technicians. As her capabilities and confidence grew, she identified lapses in leadership at the company and developed her own ideas about running an electrical contracting business. Then she took the leap. In 2000, Peggy established Phoenix Business Solutions LLC, an electrical contracting firm specializing in low-voltage installations of automated systems such as fiber optics, voice data and life safety security systems.
"I wanted to build a business with the kind of leadership a company should have - a company where employees are valued and respected," says Peggy, whose first order of business upon starting Phoenix was to pursue her electrician's license, an undertaking that involved months of study culminating in a rigorous exam. "I felt it was my responsibility to hold the firm's electrical license. Earning it wasn't easy, but when you lead an organization, your people look to you to set the bar for dedication and work ethic."
Peggy's team has followed her lead, demonstrating professionalism and perseverance that has helped them earn the trust and business of clients ranging from several Fortune 100 companies to universities, schools and hospitals. These established relationships have helped Phoenix Business Solutions, now a multimillion-dollar business, grow steadily for several years. And, over the next five to seven years, Peggy is planning for additional 15 percent annual revenue growth and 3 percent annual employment growth.
