PNC Directions is a mutual fund and exchange traded fund (ETF) investment advisory program designed for investors taking those first steps toward achieving their financial goals. This account makes the process of investing easy and accessible by using mutual fund families managed by our affiliates, including PNC Funds and BlackRock Funds®, as well as ETFs managed by iShares®.
Mutual funds and ETFs offer access to a diversified portfolio of assets, without the expense of purchasing each asset individually
PNC Investments will help you choose an asset allocation strategy that aligns with your financial goals and risk tolerance
Confirming that your investments remain consistent with your financial needs and goals
Investors should carefully consider the investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses of mutual funds and ETFs before investing; this and other information is contained in each fund's prospectus, provided by PNC Investments, and should be read carefully before investing.
Asset Allocation Determines Fund Selection
PNC Investments will begin by gaining an understanding of your financial goals, time horizon and risk tolerance – to determine an appropriate asset allocation strategy. In this case, asset allocation strategy refers to the mix of equities (stocks) and fixed income investments (bonds) that make up your portfolio.
At one end of the spectrum is a conservative asset allocation model, structured to generate income and more heavily weighted in bond and money market funds. At the other end of the spectrum is the aggressive model, geared toward longer-term growth, and more heavily weighted toward equity funds.
Then, using your asset allocation and risk tolerance assessment as a guide, your PNC Investments financial professional will work with you to select the appropriate mutual funds or ETFs to construct your portfolio. The mutual funds and ETFs available through PNC Directions are rigorously researched and their performance is monitored on an ongoing basis.
Reviewing Your Portfolio
Once your portfolio is established, you’ll receive monthly account statements and quarterly performance reports so you can stay current on your holdings. Additionally, you will have access to a PNC Investments financial professional who can answer any questions regarding the performance of your account. PNC Investments financial professionals can make adjustments to your investments should your goals or financial situation change.
