Frequently Asked Questions
You’ll start earning interest with a minimum balance of $1[1]. The rate is variable – which means it changes over time. It’s determined using many factors, including economic environment, value to customers and our competition. We continuously evaluate and set our rates.
When you apply online, we’ll place a hold on any deposits for up to 5 business days. This period starts the day you complete your application, or the next business day if you apply on a non-business day.
After the hold is removed, you can use the account and access your money according to normal funds availability (the Consumer Funds Availability Policy in the Account Agreement for Personal Checking, Savings and Money Market Accounts).
Once you've opened your account, you can deposit or transfer additional funds into your PNC High Yield Savings account in several ways:

Use Mobile Banking[4]: Deposit checks or access your account on-the-go by downloading the PNC Mobile App to your device. For more information and to find the app that's right for you, check out our Mobile Apps Directory. Learn More

Deposits made during this period will not be available during this period for any purpose.
