What Else You Need to Know About Your
New Checking Account & Debit Card

Checking Account:

  • You will receive new account, routing/transit numbers for your new checking account.
  • Monthly service charges will be waived for a period of time after your account transitions to PNC Bank. Please review your Account Transfer Confirmation for additional details.
  • Statements: BBVA USA will be producing a final statement for all personal checking accounts after the final nightly processing is completed on Friday, October 8th. PNC will not produce statements for the first week after conversion. Most customers will receive their next statement on or around their typical cycle date in November, and will maintain the timing of their existing personal checking statement cycle.
  • Establish new recurring internal transfers from your checking account: We allow transfers between accounts to be made weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annually. We also allow recurring transfers for a specific number of transfers, to go through a specific date or to be continual.

Debit Card:

  • You will receive a new debit card with a new card number on or before October 8, 2021.
  • Your PNC debit card PIN will remain the same as your BBVA USA debit card PIN.
  • Your debit card limits will change. Please see your PNC debit card carrier for more information.
  • After September 30, you will no longer be able to block or unblock your debit card in BBVA USA Online or Mobile Banking.

If your BBVA USA debit card is blocked as of September 30, you will need to activate your new PNC Debit card on October 8.
  • If you currently use your BBVA USA debit card in your digital wallet, you can continue to use until January 29, 2022 or until you activate your new PNC debit card. Once you activate your new PNC debit card, starting on October 12, you can push your new card into your digital wallet through the PNC Mobile App.
  • If you are traveling on or after October 8, 2021, please notify us. By providing us with a travel notice, this could help prevent fraud and reduce declined transactions when traveling. Please contact us at the number on the back of your new card.

Automatic payments and transfers that will continue:

  • Direct Deposit: Direct deposits, such as payroll, social security, and tax credits, or other recurring payments made to checking accounts will continue as established at BBVA USA without interruption. However, we recommend that you make sure the originators have your new account and routing/transit numbers for their records.
  • Overdraft Protection: Overdraft protection from a deposit or loan account will continue as established at BBVA USA without interruption. You will receive a separate mailing if your account can not be linked for overdraft protection.

Overdraft Protection links your checking account to another eligible PNC account, so you can use available funds to cover overdrafts. When there's an insufficient balance in your checking account to pay for any item, funds, if available, are transferred from the Protecting Account to cover your purchases.
  • Online Bill Pay: Your BBVA USA online bill pay payees and scheduled payments will be established for you within PNC Online Banking.
  • Recurring Internal Transfer of Funds: Recurring internal transfer of funds to or from your BBVA USA or PNC checking account, except daily transfers and transfers set up for a specific dollar limit will continue as established at BBVA USA without interruption.

Any recurring transfer set to occur on the weekend of October 9 to 11 will be made on Tuesday, October 12. After October 12, recurring transfers set to occur on a weekend or holiday will occur on the business day prior to the transfer.

  • Statements: For the month of August you will receive two statements: one from BBVA reflecting activity through August 20, 2021, and one from PNCI/NFS reflecting activity for the remainder of August. It is important to note that your BBVA USA investment statement will reflect the balance being transferred to PNCI. Your PNCI statement will reflect receiving assets from BBVA USA.
  • Advisors: As part of the conversion process, those BBVA USA advisors making the move to PNC Investments will be issued new PNC-specific email addresses and telephone numbers. This and other information will be provided to you in a future communication.
  • Taxes: You will receive tax documents from both BBVA and PNCI. The 1099 from BBVA USA will provide information on transactions and dividends earned through August 20, 2021, while the PNCI 1099 will report on transactions and dividends from August 21 - December 31, 2021.

If you have other BBVA USA accounts:

  • While your investment accounts will transition to PNC in August, your banking accounts including deposits and loans will be transitioning later this fall. During this interim period, there may be some temporary processes in place, until your entire BBVA USA relationship is transitioned.
  • Once all of your bank accounts are transferred to PNC, you will experience more seamless ways to bank and invest.

Accessing Online & Mobile Banking

During the week of August 23, 2021, you will receive mailings with your PNC online banking user ID and password. Once enrolled, you can then view your eligible investment accounts in PNC's online banking.

  • Spanish language services are available by calling 1-866-HOLA-PNC (4652-762). Other languages are supported through translators for live agent calls.
  • BBVA USA customers can access PNC’s Voice Banking system by entering a User ID which is typically a customer’s Social Security Number and the 4-digit PIN number associated with your ATM or Debit Card.

Note: The User ID for Voice Banking is not the same as your User ID for Online and Mobile Banking

Important Legal Disclosures and Information

  1. We calculate any variable annual percentage rates (APRs) on your account by adding a “margin” to the value of an index. Any increase or decrease in the index will result in a corresponding increase or decrease in your variable APRs. We are not changing any margins on your account. The index for your credit card account is The Wall Street Journal prime rate and that is not changing. However, the date we use to determine the value of the index is changing unless you reject the changes to your credit card account in accordance with our instructions. This change means that the date an increase or decrease to your variable APRs is applied to your account could change.

  2. PNC does not charge a fee for Mobile Banking. However, third party message and data rates may apply. These include fees your wireless carrier may charge you for data usage and text messaging services. Check with your wireless carrier for details regarding your specific wireless plan and any data usage or text messaging charges that may apply. Also, a supported mobile device is needed to use the Mobile Banking App. Mobile Deposit is a feature of PNC Mobile Banking. Use of the Mobile Deposit feature requires a supported camera-equipped device and you must download a PNC mobile banking app. Eligible PNC Bank account and PNC Bank Online Banking required. Certain other restrictions apply. See the mobile banking terms and conditions in the PNC Online Banking Service Agreement.

  3. After capturing your check images, if the check qualifies, we will offer the choice between standard funds availability at no charge or PNC Express Funds for a fee.

The fee for PNC Express Funds is 2% of each check amount over $100.  For any check amount from $25 to $100, a $2 fee will apply to each check.

If the check is returned due to insufficient funds, PNC will not debit your account.

If your deposit is completed before 10 p.m. ET on a business day, your funds will also be available to pay checks or items during nightly processing. If your deposit is completed after 10 p.m. ET, your funds will be available to pay checks or items presented on the next business day.

Note: With standard funds availability (no charge), checks drawn on PNC will be available the evening of your deposit to pay checks or items presented that evening for posting if your deposit is completed by 10 p.m. ET.

  4. Zelle® should only be used to send or receive money with people you know and trust. Before using Zelle® to send money, you should confirm the recipient's email address or U.S. mobile phone number. Neither PNC nor Zelle® offers a protection program for authorized payments made with Zelle®. Zelle® is available to almost anyone with a bank account in the U.S. Transactions typically occur in minutes between enrolled users. If the recipient has not enrolled, the payment will expire after 14 calendar days. See the PNC Zelle Terms of Use for additional terms and conditions.  Use of Zelle® is subject to and conditional upon adherence to the terms and conditions of the PNC Zelle® Terms of Use.

  5. A qualifying Direct Deposit is defined as a recurring Direct Deposit of a paycheck, pension, Social Security or other regular monthly income electronically deposited by an employer or an outside agency into the Spend account of a Virtual Wallet with Performance Select, Virtual Wallet with Performance Spend or Virtual Wallet. The total amount of all qualifying Direct Deposits credited to your checking account must be at least $5,000 for Virtual Wallet with Performance Select, $2,000 for Virtual Wallet with Performance Spend ($1,000 for WorkPlace or Military Banking customers) or $500 for Virtual Wallet. Credit card cash advance transfers, wire transfers, transfers from one account to another or deposits made at a branch or ATM do not qualify as qualifying Direct Deposits.

  6. Transaction fees will apply to your account if you exceed six (6) Restricted Transfers in a monthly service charge period. Restricted Transfers are transfers from a savings or money market account to other accounts (including transfers to another account for overdraft protection) or to third parties by check, through point-of sale purchase transactions or similar debit card transactions, by pre-authorized or automatic agreements, telephone, online or similar order payable to a third person. If you make more than a total of six (6) Restricted Transfers in a monthly service charge period, you will be charged a fee for each Restricted Transfer. See your account agreement and fee schedule for more information. Other limits may apply to your account. We reserve the right to suspend enforcement of these transaction limitations, or to modify them, at our discretion.

  7. Online bill pay is a free service within PNC Online Banking that is available for residents within the US who have a qualifying checking account. We reserve the right to decline or revoke access to this service. Payments to billers outside of the United States or its territories are prohibited through this service. Tax payments, payments to settle securities transactions, and court ordered payments may be scheduled through the Service; however, such payments are discouraged and must be scheduled at your own risk.
