Towson DOC (Disbursement Online Center) is a service that provides fast, convenient processing of student refunds from financial aid and other credits on students' accounts. Towson DOC enables a student to have any refund deposited directly into an existing bank account - no problems with lost checks, changing addresses, or waiting for the mail!

How will I know when my financial aid or other refund has been directly deposited to my account?
You will receive an email notification to your Towson University email account when the transfer process has begun. Funds will be received 1-10 business days after this message based upon which delivery method you have chosen.
If my permanent address on file is not local, can I update this?
Yes. We recommend signing up for the direct deposit option as it is the fastest way to receive your rebate. However, if you prefer to have a paper check mailed, you may still change the address to which your check is sent. Go to your TU student center page and click "DOC Account Log in". This will direct you to the secure PNC Bank page. Once there, click the "My Profile" tab at the top. You will then see a box showing where your check is currently set to be sent, as well as a clickable link to add an alternate mailing address.
I received a rebate, but my account shows a balance as well as a registration hold. Why?
The Bursar's Office must comply with federal Title IV regulations. This means that we are not able to pay for charges you have been assessed that occur outside of the financial aid year. For this reason it is very important that you check your account status after receiving a rebate, and throughout the term. If your account shows a balance above $200, a registration hold will be placed on your account. This balance will need to be paid prior to registration of the following term that you wish to attend.
I have a credit on my account. My financial aid for the term is comprised of both student loans and parent loans. Will I receive the rebate or will my parent?
It depends on whether your parent, when applying, selected to allow the excess funds from the Plus loan to be forwarded to the student or not.
If your parent selected the option to have the excess funds go to themselves, the Bursar's Office will send the Plus loan rebate via postal mail to the parent borrower's address on file.
If the credit in your account is greater than the entire parent loan amount disbursed, there will be a second rebate sent via DOC for the difference directly to the student.
If the parent applicant selects the option to have the excess funds be given to the student, then your excess plus loan funds will be processed as a normal rebate sent via DOC.
What do the descriptions in my student account activity mean relating to my rebate?
Can I pick up a refund check from the Bursar's Office on campus?
No. PNC Bank will be issuing all student refund checks. Each student is responsible for ensuring that the contact information in Towson DOC is accurate. Select Direct Deposit into your checking account and your refunds will be automatically deposited - this is the fastest way to receive your payments. If no selection is made, a paper check will be mailed to the current address on file.
I’m a parent. Can I get my PLUS refund in another form other than a check?
Not at this time.
What happens if I don't activate my Towson DOC and select my preference for receiving my refunds?
A refund check will be mailed to your permanent mailing address as listed on file with Towson University. For faster receipt of your refund, it is recommended that you sign up for Direct Deposit on Towson DOC.

Working in conjunction with the University, PNC will schedule financial education seminars on campus to assist students with Banking Basics, Budgeting, Identity Theft, and Protecting their Credit.
PNC provides free incoming wires and a courtesy overdraft waiver.
Student banking also comes with one free incoming wire transfer per monthly billing cycle and a courtesy overdraft fee waiver for the first NSF incident that may occur in the first 12 months after opening a new account. PNC looks at this as a way to educate students
