PNC University Banking

FAQs

PNC understands that financial education is the basis for financial wellness. We offer a range of popular seminars and workshops, such as Identity Theft Prevention, Banking 101, Raising Money Smart Kids, etc., to help students, faculty and staff with their financial well-being. These educational workshops and seminars are delivered in a lecture hall or meeting room environment, by qualified PNC Bank representatives. PNC can also work with schools to deliver the seminars online. Your University Banking relationship manager will work with you to determine the best way to schedule, communicate and deliver our offerings.

WorkPlace Banking is a value-added banking program which offers faculty and staff the safety and security of direct deposit, a choice of checking options and access to special offers and events such as on-campus educational seminars. These convenient features, benefits and services are available at no additional cost through PNC’s WorkPlace Banking program.

When linked to a PNC checking account, faculty, staff and students can also use their campus-issued ID card to withdraw cash at PNC ATMs and make pin-transaction purchases on or around campus.

Although University Banking programs can be customized for each school based on the needs of the campus community, a school must have an existing magnetic stripe card program in place to be eligible for card linking. There may also be size requirements for the implementation of a card linking program.

A school might consider adding ID card linking when upgrading to a new card system, going through the process of removing social security numbers or when seeking revenue to support its card program.

ID card linking provides students and employees with the added convenience and security of combining their campus ID card and their PNC bank account – so they only need to carry one card with them for their daily activities.

When linked to a PNC Bank checking account, a school's ID can be used for PIN-based transactions, including ATMs and merchant locations worldwide.

A co-branded debit card is a way to promote your school's brand with your students, faculty, staff, and alumni via a specially designed PNC Bank Visa® debit card that bears an instantly identifiable image of your school – be it a school logo or an on-campus landmark.

PNC Bank offers various consumer credit card products but we do not offer a University branded affinity credit card program.
