How It Works

The PNC Bank Visa Gift Card is a prepaid card that carries a fixed cash amount determined by the giver at the time the card is purchased. You may pay for purchases, either by signature or by PIN, anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted. For signature transactions, choose the "credit" payment option and sign the receipt. For PIN transactions, choose the "debit" payment option and enter your PIN.

NOTE: Not all merchants will be able to accept signature and/or PIN transactions and you may not obtain cash back from merchants or use your PIN to make withdrawals at ATMs. Spending is limited to the amount of money placed on the card by the purchaser. Each time the card is used, the purchase amount is deducted from the balance.

Important Tips

  • Knowing your balance before shopping will help ensure that your card is accepted. Card balances can be obtained 24/7 through direct online access, or by calling 866-730-8399.
  • For your safety and security, register your card. Your personal information will be verified when making online or phone purchases, or when requesting a replacement card if your card is lost or stolen.
  • To purchase an item that costs more than the balance on your card, let the cashier know the available amount on the gift card and then pay the remainder with another form of payment.
